The first seasons of CBS’ Watson is heading toward a dramatic finish with a two-part finale airing May 4 and May 11 at 9 p.m. ET. Starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, the series picks up six months after Sherlock Holmes’ death and follows Watson as he returns to medicine—only to find that his old life isn’t done with him.
As Moriarty escalates his attacks, the stakes have never been higher. After eleven episodes of manipulation through Watson’s assistant Shinwell, the villain goes direct, poisoning Lauren’s lipstick just before she kisses Adam. The true damage remains to be seen, but episode 12, “Your Life’s Work, Part 1,” teases a crisis: “When part of the team falls ill after becoming targets of a sinister plot, it becomes an all-hands-on-deck situation to save them before it’s too late.”
Showrunner Craig Sweeny hints that Adam’s fate will drive the finale. “You don’t get all the answers immediately,” he says, “but it’s definitely a major attack—and it affects everyone.” 
Meanwhile, Moriarty uses his knowledge of Ingrid’s darkest secret—what she did to her father—as leverage. He not only wants control but is testing whether Ingrid is more like Holmes or like him.
Relationships built throughout the season are set to crack under pressure, especially between Ingrid and Sasha. “If Ingrid trusts anyone, it’s Sasha,” Sweeny notes, citing the duo’s unexpected chemistry and emotional weight.
And while Shinwell may be free from Moriarty, that freedom may come with a deadly price. “If Moriarty no longer finds you useful, that’s a dangerous place to be,” warns Sweeny.
Expect betrayals, hard choices, and emotional fallout as Watson closes its first chapter. “The finale is about what survives,” Sweeny says. “Who makes it through, and who’s left to pick up the pieces?”
