CINCINNATI — Rainy weather didn’t dampen spirits at the 2025 Flying Pig Marathon, where thousands of runners crossed the “Finish Swine” on Sunday. Now in its 27th year, the popular marathon welcomed athletes from all 50 U.S. states and 30 countries, despite the slick roads and overcast skies.
A total of 39,292 participants took part in events throughout the marathon weekend, with 5,686 runners competing in the full 26.2-mile race—an increase of nearly 700 from last year’s 4,994 marathon finishers. Participation numbers rose in nearly every race, except the Children’s 26th Mile, the First Watch Flying Piglet, the Flying Fur Dog Walk/Run, and the Fifty West Mile.
This year’s main event saw two first-time competitors take home the men’s and women’s titles—an impressive debut for both.
Sean Ryan, from Florida, claimed victory in the men’s race with a time of 2:22:41. He was followed by Bridger Altice in second place at 2:26:05, and Ethan Davis in third at 2:28:05. Last year’s male champion, Jason Saylor, did not return to defend his title.
On the women’s side, Tori Parkinson of Utah won her first Flying Pig Marathon with a time of 2:40:06. Emma Bell placed second in 2:50:57, with Daniella Townsend close behind at 2:51:12. Reigning women’s champion Olivia Anger also did not participate this year.
