Steve Burton has officially tied the knot with the love of his life, Michelle Lundstrom, in a dreamy Laguna Beach wedding full of love, family, and ‘80s-inspired romance.
The General Hospital actor, 54, and chef/content creator Michelle Lundstrom, 44, said “I do” on Saturday, May 17, in an intimate Orthodox church ceremony, followed by an elegant oceanfront reception at Montage Laguna Beach in California. The couple’s family-only church ceremony was followed by a sunset celebration with 45 close friends, including several of Burton’s soap opera co-stars.
“This day isn’t just about a ceremony,” Burton shared. “It’s the beginning of forever with the love of my life.” 
A Bridal Look to Remember
Lundstrom, known from Barbecue Showdown on Netflix, stunned in a custom strapless couture gown by Lee Petra Grebenau. Describing the look as “romantic with a vintage vibe,” she found the perfect dress with help from her daughters, Lilah (14) and Hannah (10).
“They both said, ‘That’s the one, Mom!’ We all knew,” said Lundstrom.
Her glam team, Anzhela and Luiza Adzhiyan—both friends from General Hospital—handled her hair and makeup for the big day.
Blending Families and Hearts
The celebration brought together Burton’s children — Makena (21), Jack (19), and Brooklyn (10) — and Lundstrom’s daughters, who joined the wedding party. Actor Jonathan Jackson and his wife Lisa Vultaggio also played special roles in the ceremony.
Burton was joined by his best man, longtime friend Jeremy Ross, while Lundstrom’s sister Janine served as maid of honor.
A Love Written in the Stars (and Soundtracked by the ’80s)
Bonding over ‘80s music and movies during their early connection, the couple chose a nostalgic soundtrack. A pianist performed romantic ’80s classics during cocktail hour, while On the Go DJ Pro kept the retro vibes going during the reception.
For their first dance, the couple selected the emotional track “I Choose You” by Forest Blakk, adding a contemporary but heartfelt note to their evening.
“It was a dream-like celebration filled with so much love,” said Lundstrom.
The Reception: Candlelight, Comfort Food, and Classic Romance
Guests enjoyed a candlelit dinner curated by the chefs at Montage, which included an “incredible” beef tenderloin. Though Burton originally wanted a nostalgic sheet cake-style dessert, they opted for a more refined vanilla sponge cake with vanilla cream and fresh berries.
“I just wanted it to taste like a classic grocery store cake,” Burton joked.
The following day, the newlyweds hosted a Sunday brunch to bid farewell to their guests.
From Online Connection to Forever
The love story began on social media and turned romantic after a strong foundation of friendship. Burton proposed on January 3 in Nashville with a backdrop of the location where they first met in person.“It was incredibly sweet,” Lundstrom shared. “He had candles, rose petals, and our photos in a little chapel. I cried happy tears.”
They announced their engagement just four months before the wedding, deciding not to wait.
“We didn’t want to put off being husband and wife,” Lundstrom said.
Burton allowed Lundstrom to lead the wedding planning process with support from The Ashlyn Company, calling the experience “fun and a little crazy,” but deeply rewarding.
This marks a fresh start for Burton, whose divorce from his wife of 23 years was finalized in December 2023. By May 2024, PEOPLE confirmed his relationship with Lundstrom, and in June, they attended the Daytime Emmy Awards together.
“Michelle is my best friend. She’s selfless, loving, and full of joy,” Burton said. “She makes me feel more cared for than I ever have in my life.”
And for Lundstrom, the feeling is mutual.
“He’s proven that fairy tale love truly exists,” she said. “He is the love of my life, and I feel so blessed to call him mine.”
