It’s been a while since we had a new The Amazing World of Gumball to enjoy, but that’s about to change. Season 8 aired in 2019, four years after Season 7 ended in 2015.
But season seven will get a new home.
In a surprise maneuver, Hulu announced today that the streaming network will be the exclusive North American streaming home for the fan-favorite cartoon. For international audiences, the series will still air on Cartoon Network.
Oddly, the show has also been renamed The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball.
In addition to the new season, Hulu will be the home for every previous episode, so it’ll be the place to be for fans of Gumball.
No word yet on the release date, but there is a teaser for the new material. It has also been revealed that Alkaio Thiele and Hero Hunter are the new voices for Gumball and Darwin Watterson, respectively, which makes the fifth pair of voice actors for the two main characters in nine years since the show began. They’ve managed such transitions so smoothly in the past that fans should anticipate a relatively seamless one.
In the meantime, original voice actors Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell will return as Nicole and Richard Watterson, son and husband to Jessica (Catherine Tate).
The double truck is slated to be a 40-episode season that will debut late 2025.

Show creator Ben Bocquelet, who had said he wouldn’t be returning after the end of season 6, will also be back as an executive producer. His involvement in the new series is still uncertain, though.
Bocquelet along with his fellow executive producers Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain said in a press release,
“What amazing luck it is to be able to play in this world once more! Fans should expect even more ridiculousness and mischief in Elmore as Gumball and Darwin have so much more growing up to do – not that they’re letting it get in their way of being goofy and ridiculous…we all have that problem, right?”
Vanessa Brookman, GM, Warner Bros Discovery, International Kids, Animation and Franchise, said,
“We felt it was about time that Gumball and his family and friends woke up from their catnap to do what they do best, and bring even more fans into their world of heart, humor, visual creativity and wild antics. With Ben, Matt, Erik and the entire creative team bringing even more locations and characters to the town of Elmore, new young fans around the world have a great new season to find and unique new worlds to visit for the first time. I am even more excited than Darwin.”
