During a recent interview on CBS Mornings, legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick was asked how he met his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. But before he could answer, Hudson—who was off-camera—quickly shut it down.
“We’re not talking about this,” she said firmly, cutting off CBS News correspondent Tony Dokoupil’s question. Belichick, 73, didn’t respond, and the interview moved on.
The segment was part of a promotional tour for Belichick’s upcoming book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, set to release on May 6. Throughout the interview, Hudson was seen nearby and even heard speaking from the sidelines. 
“Jordon was a constant presence during our interview,” Dokoupil noted, as footage showed her in the background.
When asked how he handles public interest in their relationship, Belichick replied, “Never worried about what anybody else thinks.”
The interaction sparked widespread discussion across sports media, with some commentators questioning the level of influence Hudson may have in Belichick’s life—especially given their nearly 50-year age difference. NBC Sports reported that Hudson plays an “active role” in Belichick’s professional affairs and may have significant influence.
The interview continued, touching on topics like Belichick’s social media presence—including photos of him and Hudson doing couples yoga on the beach. “I’m on some of those social media platforms,” he said. “But I honestly don’t follow them.”
Dokoupil also brought up Belichick’s time with the New England Patriots, pointing out that Patriots owner Robert Kraft wasn’t mentioned in the coach’s new book. The two parted ways last year, and Belichick has since taken a job as the head coach at the University of North Carolina.
When asked if he felt respected when he left the Patriots, Belichick said, “Yeah, well, it was a mutual decision for us to part ways.” Dokoupil then noted Kraft had used the word “fired,” but Belichick stuck to his version: “mutual decision.”
