The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2025 has come to an abrupt end due to dangerous weather conditions, forcing organizers to shut it down early for safety reasons.
Rain Disrupts Schedule and Evacuates Fans
On Friday, organizers announced the cancellation on Instagram after issuing multiple weather delays and an evacuation order. Although the festival officially started on Thursday at Bonnaroo Farm in Manchester, Tennessee, it was scheduled to continue through Sunday. However, only Luke Combs performed before the weather made further events impossible.
Organizers Respond to Weather Forecast
The National Weather Service issued a revised forecast predicting constant heavy rainfall. As a result, festival officials took action to prevent further safety risks.
“We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo,” they explained in the post.
Rather than wait for conditions to worsen, the team acted quickly to inform fans and start the cancellation process.
Clear Refund Plan Shared With Fans
Bonnaroo confirmed that fans who bought one-day tickets for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday through Front Gate Tickets will receive full refunds. Meanwhile, those with four-day passes and camping packages will get 75% refunds, ensuring that ticket holders aren’t left in the dark.
Performances That Won’t Happen
In addition to Luke Combs, the festival had planned major headliner acts, such as:
-
Tyler, the Creator
-
Olivia Rodrigo
-
Hozier
Other expected performers included Vampire Weekend, Tyla, Raye, Avril Lavigne, GloRilla, Queens of the Stone Age, Glass Animals, and many more. All performances were canceled to ensure the safety of fans and staff.
The Bonnaroo Team Prioritizes Safety
Instead of waiting, the team immediately focused on helping fans leave the site safely. In their post, they mentioned that the Outeroo area had become muddy and difficult to navigate.
“We’d like to prioritize getting those folks, as well as those with accessibility needs, off The Farm as soon as possible,” they stated.
This proactive approach helped prevent further complications and kept fan safety at the forefront.
A Message from the Heart
The Bonnaroo team shared how much effort went into preparing the weekend. They acknowledged how heartbreaking the decision felt after months of planning and dedication.
“We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year,” they wrote. “We cannot express how crushed we are.”
They also thanked fans for their ongoing support, understanding, and what they lovingly call the “Bonnaroovian spirit.”
