Christian Camargo, who portrayed Brian Moser (aka the Ice Truck Killer) in the original Dexter series, has teased a return in the upcoming sequel series Dexter: Resurrection. The new series follows the success of the prequel Dexter: Original Sin, and it will be the third spin-off in the franchise. Resurrection will feature Michael C. Hall reprising his role as Dexter, with the story set in New York City and picking up after the events of Dexter: New Blood.

In a TikTok posted on June 12, Camargo appeared on a production set and revealed a costume nearly identical to the one worn by Brian in the season 1 finale. Accompanied by the classic Dexter theme music, the post strongly suggests Brian Moser will return in some form. Although Brian was killed in season 1, the character previously reappeared as a vision in season 6, opening the door to more posthumous appearances.

Rumors indicate that Dexter will awaken from a hospital scene in Resurrection and be visited by ghostly figures from his past, including Brian, Sgt. James Doakes, Miguel Prado, and the Trinity Killer. These appearances are expected to be brief, though Brian could potentially have a more significant role.

Some speculation suggests Brian might serve as part of Dexter’s “Dark Passenger,” a role formerly occupied by Harry Morgan and later Debra Morgan in New Blood. This could offer a new dynamic for Dexter’s internal conflict. Since Original Sin explored Brian’s childhood and the reason Harry chose to adopt Dexter over him, showrunner Clyde Phillips may be positioning Brian to have a deeper presence in Resurrection.

Despite these possibilities, it’s likely Brian’s return will be limited. With major stars like Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, and Neil Patrick Harris joining the cast, the focus will likely be on new storylines. Still, Brian’s brief reappearance will appeal to long-time fans and help tie the sequel to its roots.

Whether as a fleeting vision or a more lasting presence, the Ice Truck Killer’s return adds intrigue to Dexter: Resurrection, which premieres on July 11, 2025.
