GTA 6 Players React to Price Hike and Gameplay Leak

Fans of Grand Theft Auto VI are getting frustrated over the game’s expected price. This follows Microsoft’s recent price hikes for its hardware and software. With GTA VI delayed until May 2026, many believe it will launch at $80 for the base version on Xbox.

Fans flocked to Reddit’s r/GTA6 to share their thoughts on the potential cost. Some expressed disbelief and anger. One user said, “it’s gonna be like $80 base game, $100 deluxe edition, $120+ for anything more they can dream up.” International fans raised concerns too. They noted that $120 could translate to over 500 in their local currency, making it hard to afford.

The backlash grew when users criticized others willing to pay over $100 for the base game. One commenter stated, “Some of you saying you’d pay for a $100 base game make me sick.”

Alongside pricing worries, the GTA VI community reacted to a major gameplay leak. A former Rockstar Games QA tester revealed details about the game’s features. Then, someone deleted the posts. Claims featured a bigger map with more countryside. It featured lively spots such as a “meth county,” underwater areas, and interactive restricted zones.

Gameplay enhancements may feature realistic driving, dynamic traffic stops, and advanced AI. The leak hints that NPCs and police will recall player actions, such as robberies. They will react in future encounters. Players might even hide contraband during police stops.

While some fans express excitement about these features, others remain doubtful. One user noted, “It may not be real, but it’s interesting.” Another added, “Anyone can make stuff up… even if it sounds reasonable, we can’t know.”

Whether the leak is true or not, it has sparked renewed excitement for GTA VI. With its release set for fall 2025, fans are eager for official updates. Yet, rising costs may cloud some of that excitement.
