PGA star Scottie Scheffler and his wife, Meredith Scheffler, just celebrated a heartwarming family milestone amid the intensity of the PGA Championship. Their son Bennett turned one, and the proud parents shared the moment with a sweet, seven-word message.
Taking to Instagram on May 9, Scheffler posted a touching photo from the Masters, where Meredith held baby Bennett as the family enjoyed a major moment together. His caption:
“One whole year with our little man!”
As Scheffler continues his pursuit of golf greatness, family remains at the heart of everything. Ahead of the final round at the PGA Championship, Scottie reflected on how much it would mean to bring home another major win, not just for himself, but for his growing family.
“It would mean a lot,” Scheffler told reporters. “These tournaments are very important to us, and you work your whole life to have a chance to win major tournaments… tomorrow I have a good opportunity to go out there and try and win the golf tournament.”
From High School Sweethearts to Parenthood
Scottie and Meredith, who were high school sweethearts, have shared every step of life’s biggest moments together. Following Bennett’s birth earlier in 2024, Scottie reflected on how far they’ve come and the surreal feeling of reaching both personal and professional milestones.
“At home it was a nice time to reflect a little bit on my career so far and where my life has gone,” Scheffler shared, via Fox News. “I married my high school sweetheart and I always wanted to play professional golf, and now I’m here. I was sitting there with a newborn in my arms and the green jacket in the closet. It was a pretty special time.”
While Scottie continues to chase major titles on the course, it’s clear that his biggest win will always be his family.
