The pop star, who was attending her second Met Gala, had to be sewn into her pink Prabal Gurung gown while an route to the event. In a hilarious Instagram story, Nicole Schreiner captured the frantic scene inside the limo, where Shakira was getting the final adjustments to her gown just moments before arriving.
The 48-year-old singer wore a stunning pink gown with dramatic figure-framing cutouts and a voluminous train. Despite the rush and a small needle poke that made Shakira exclaim “Ow!” the outfit was flawless by the time she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer’s gown was paired with sheer black gloves, a statement necklace, and an ultra-pink glam look, complete with bold blush and matching lips. Shakira’s signature wavy hair was left down, completing the striking look. 
The 2025 Met Gala’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was a tribute to Black dandyism and its cultural and historical significance in fashion. The exhibit highlights the role of the Black dandy in menswear and style from the 18th century to today. Shakira’s look aligned beautifully with the theme, showcasing both style and confidence.
This year’s Met Gala also marked Shakira’s second appearance, following her 2023 debut where she wore a red flamenco-style Carolina Herrera gown. Like her first Met Gala, Shakira’s preparation included some last-minute fashion challenges, but in the end, she stole the show with her dramatic gown and stunning presence.
