Motown icon Smokey Robinson, 85, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault and harassment in a newly filed $50 million lawsuit. The suit, obtained by Fox News Digital, was brought forth by four anonymous former housekeepers who claim Robinson repeatedly assaulted and harassed them during their employment between 2006 and 2024 at his Chatsworth, California residence.

The lawsuit also names Robinson’s wife of 25 years, Frances Robinson, accusing her of fostering a hostile work environment and failing to act despite allegedly knowing about her husband’s prior misconduct. The plaintiffs allege Frances was aware of similar previous incidents that were privately settled.

Allegations from the Plaintiffs:

  • Jane Doe 1 (JD1) worked for the Robinsons from January 2023 to February 2024 and claims she was sexually assaulted at least seven times. She states she didn’t report the abuse due to fear of retaliation, immigration concerns, and Robinson’s powerful status. She described being lured into his “blue bedroom,” where he would allegedly prepare the room and himself for the assaults.

  • Jane Doe 2 (JD2) claimed her abuse began in 2016 and included at least 23 instances of rape. She alleged Smokey would text her to meet him in camera-free zones of the house and used threats involving Frances to coerce her compliance.

  • Jane Doe 3 (JD3) stated she was raped repeatedly throughout her employment from February 2012 to April 2024. She described one incident where Smokey allegedly offered her $500 for oral sex, which she refused.

  • Jane Doe 4 (JD4), who began working for the family in October 2006, claimed she was first assaulted in 2007 at the Robinsons’ Las Vegas home. She also served as Frances’ personal assistant and accused Frances of verbal abuse and using racially offensive language.

All four women are suing for sexual battery, sexual assault, gender violence, negligence, emotional distress, and violations of California labor laws, including unpaid wages and denied breaks.

The plaintiffs assert they suffered severe emotional and psychological harm due to the alleged misconduct and toxic work environment.
